She was the American women's Olympic gymnastics team captain for both the 2012 and 2016 "Fierce Five" U.S. teams. Morgan was born July 2, 1989 to Pamela Morgan and Michael Morgan. They raised her along with her sisters, Jeni and Jeri, in the Los Angeles suburb of Diamond Bar. Morgan played many games as a child but only began to play soccer when she was 14. Morgan was a member of the Cypress Elite club team and won the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship. She also came in third in the under-19 bracket. Morgan continued to refine her soccer skills at Diamond Bar High School. Morgan was selected as an All-American Athlete by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Additionally, she was a member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) regional and state divisions.
