Naomi Ellen Watts, born 28 September 1968 is an British actor from the United Kingdom. Following the move of her family to Australia and she made her film debut with the film For Love Alone (1986) and then appeared in three television series, Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (1991) as well as Home and Away (1991) as well as in the movie Flirting (1991). Watts was an unpromising actor when she first arrived in the United States. She acted in films of a smaller scale and later became an actress. This film helped propel her to international fame. Watts played the part of an unmotivated journalist in The Ring, a horror film that was made into a remake. As a character in the film, she played a grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.
